All About The Woods ("AATW," "we," "our," or "us") is a community platform for outdoor enthusiasts to discover locations, plan trips, and share wilderness experiences. We are based in the United States.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and any profile details you choose to provide (name, username, profile photo).

Content you create: Trip plans, location reviews, photos, comments, and any other content you post to the platform.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns — collected to improve the product.

Device and technical data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers, collected automatically when you use the site.

Payment information: If you subscribe to AATW Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.

Location data: If you use the offline trail maps feature and grant browser location permission, your GPS coordinates are used solely to display your position on the map. This data is never transmitted to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To provide the features and services of the platform
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, trip invites)
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To improve, debug, and develop the product
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, though this will sign you out of your account.

Offline map data (downloaded trail packs) is stored in your browser's IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared through your browser's site data settings or through the My Maps page.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — web hosting and deployment

All providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

You have the right to:

• Export your content
• Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children's Privacy

All About The Woods is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
