About Us

We genuinely love being outside. Camping, hiking, getting lost on trails we probably should have mapped better beforehand — that's our thing.

The problem we kept running into wasn't finding places to go. It was everything that came with trying to go there with other people. Who's driving? What food are we bringing? Did anyone actually look at the trail before we left? You'd think a group of adults could figure it out, but coordinating a camping trip somehow ends up feeling like managing a small project.

We tried every combination of group chats, spreadsheets, and weather apps you can imagine. Nothing was built for this specific thing — planning an outdoor trip with a group, from start to finish, in one place. So we built it ourselves.

All About The Woods started as something we built for ourselves that turned into something we thought other people might actually use. It lets you find locations and trails, build out a trip plan, coordinate with whoever's coming, and even download trail maps to use when you're out of cell service. The stuff we kept wishing existed when we were planning our own trips.

We're not a big company. We're not trying to become one. We just want to make it easier for people to get outside and spend time in places that are worth the drive.

If you have feedback, ideas, or just want to tell us about a trail we should know about — we actually read those emails.
