About this site
This trail passes into thick spruce and fir trees. You will be entering a stand of Red Barked spruce which is a species of Englemann spruce that is over 200 years old. After approximately 2 miles, the trail will bear to the left and loop back to the southwest.
The trail will become steeper the closer you get to the mine. The mine sits in a bowl on the north side of Bear Mountain. * There is a printable Recreation Quicksheet for this trail which is complete with directions, a map, details, and other information about this trail.
Or to see quicksheets for other recreation areas across the Forest, click on the "Recreation Quicksheets" link in the right column and select the appropriate Ranger District.
