About this site
The Hotel San Carlos, built in 1886 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 1994 was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation® for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America. From hauntings to Hollywood, the past and present unite at Hotel San Carlos, a historic boutique hotel with a rich and storied
past that includes visits from Mae West, Clark Gable, and Marilyn Monroe. With its 1928 opening, the hotel was the most
modern hotel in the southwest and the first air-conditioned high-rise hotel with elevators in the state. Guests are invited to
stay and experience eclectic cuisine, a gift shop, an old-fashioned barber, a shoe repair shop, and a full-service restaurant and
lounge. The historic Hotel San Carlos offers warm Phoenician hospitality reminiscent of Hollywood's Golden Era. For Price Match Guarantee and Special Offers please visit, please visit HistoricHotels.org .
