About this site
This trailhead is located in the Snake River Canyon, off of Highway 89 south of Hoback Junction. The trailhead itself is a few hundred feet down a very rough dirt road that requires 4 wheel drive and high clearance. The actual trailhead is in a small opening next to Cabin Creek surrounded by large trees and willows.
This is the main access to the Cabin Creek Trail #4064, a non-motorized trail which provides a wonderful moderate hike or horse ride into the Palisades Wilderness Study Area. The trail is particularly popular in the spring when yellow mule's ear flowers are blooming and in the fall when the aspens are turning color. No facilities are located on site, although there are a few tiny dispersed camping sites.
Single kiosk with a map. Trailhead is large enough for trailer turnaround. No cellular service.
